Steve was raised on a grain and livestock farm in LaSalle county Illinois. Growing up Steve worked on the family farm and hunted upland game, squirrels and waterfowl.
Steve spent 23-1/2 years working at the LaSalle Nuclear Power Station. During that period he managed over 500 acres of land around the power plant which mostly was in the Conservation Reserve Program. During that time Steve gained vast experience in habitat management practices, providing cover for wildlife by planting native grasses and food plots. In 1992 Steve purchased a farm bordering the Vermilion River and has utilized the same habitat management practices on his own land. Being an avid whitetail deer hunter for over 30 years Steve has harvested over 60 whitetails with both the bow and gun. Steve also has over ten years of experience hunting the “Long Beard Tom” turkey. After retiring from the power company Steve attained his Realtor license and has been in the business since January of 2003, selling farm, commercial and residential properties. Steve is also a graduate of the Realtor Institute earning the GRI designation. Steve has been an active member of Pheasants Forever since 1995, including serving as the LaSalle County Chapter president 1997 thru 1999. Steve recently started up his own business as a deer and turkey hunting outfitter, www.vermilionriveroutfitters.com, in an effort to manage the growing numbers of deer and turkey in the area. With vast experience in hunting, farming and habitat management, Steve will be a definite asset with the sale or purchase of your farm/recreational land.
