Doug was raised in a small farming community in Central Illinois, and has lived there his entire life.  As a kid, he spent countless hours on his grandfather's farm following his Grandpa like a shadow, absorbing everything he said or did.  During this time, Doug's grandfather taught him about farming, family, good work ethics, and the farm lifestyle.  Above all, his grandfather taught him to respect and love hunting and the outdoors.  Going pheasant and rabbit hunting on Sunday with Grandpa, Dad, brothers and uncles was a family tradition.  Doug and his Grandpa are best friends to this day.  Doug's passion for the outdoors and hunting continues to grow.

Doug came back to the farming industry after attending college for two years.  He worked for a local fertilizer and farm chemical company for 7-1/2 years as a licensed custom applicator.  He has extensive knowledge of fertilizer and chemical applications, as well as planting procedures, methods for row crops and food plots.  He is also well versed in government programs such as CRP, CREP, WRP, Illinois hunting rules and regulations.  With this knowledge, Doug can help you determine the best areas to plant your crops and/or food plots - what to plant, how to plant and maintain these plots for maximum year-round production.

Doug has been with Agriland Midwest for over 6 years helping people fulfill their dreams of purchasing their own farm.  He knows first hand the joy and satisfaction of owning your own property.  Several years ago, he purchased his own farm in Calhoun county.

Doug has been aggressively pursuing whitetail deer for over 20 years.  He spends over 80 days on stand during deer season, each season and spends countless hours scouting, hunting shed antlers, maintaining tree stands and food plots, while also improving his own farm.  He has harvested several mature bucks over the years and many, many deer overall.  One of his most memorable hunts was in 2001 when he harvested a Pope & Young 11- pointer at 7:00 a.m and a mature doe 20 minutes later.

Doug has been a trustee on the village board where he lives for the past 6 years.  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, friends and cruisin' on his Harley-Davidson.

Let Doug put a lifetime of hunting, the outdoors and farming knowledge to work for you when buying or selling your hunting/recreational farm, because not only does Doug work in the hunting industry, he lives it!
